The high sensitivity thermal imaging camera is able to visualize full spectrum invisible to the human eye, as it operates in the medium IR, between 3.2 and 3.4 microns. It is a fundamental tool in detecting fugitive gas emission allows to detect, even at long range, the exact POSITION of a leak.
The temperature of the gas leak differs from the ambient temperature and this fact is what makes visible the gas. The camera plays images of the infrared energy and displays it on the screen similarly to a home video camera. As well as providing a corrective view thanks to its color LCD screen, allows video and audio narration saving.
The high sensibility of the refrigerated thermal camera, allows to detect small infrared radiation differences and even lower flows than those required by EPA Method 21, AWP.
